Tuesday Trivia–NEVADA and Link Party

One of our sweet granddaughters was born in Nevada,
 so she wanted Tuesday Trivia visit Nevada this week. So…

Nevada became our 36th state October 31, 1864

1. The state capital is Carson City and Las Vegas the largest city.

2.  Nevada is called the Sagebrush State, Silver State, and
Battle-Born State.
 
 
3. Hoover Dam,
the largest single public works project in the history of the
United States, contains 3.25 million cubic yards of concrete, which is
enough to pave a two-lane highway from San Francisco to New York..
 

 

 
4. Nevada has more open space than any other place in the lower 48 states.
Over 80% of Nevada's land is designated for
public and recreational use.

5. Most of the state is desert but the
Sierra Nevada mountain range near Reno
 
 
 
and the Ruby Mountains near Elko
has snow for half the year.
